Countdown to the Concerts: 3. Memory
Back home after seven solid days in the studio.
It’s Tuesday now and we perform our first concert for 32 years at 7.30pm on Friday……
You’d expect that a week of recording activity means that I now know all my parts. Note perfect. Permanently imprinted upon my neural networks. In the hands and on the lips.
This isn’t the case, or, at least, it certainly feels that there’s nothing up top I can rely upon.
We have planned a day of practice in the venue before Friday’s concert…… that will surely suffice?
