Hi folks,
Simon may remember me, I was the lighting man for 'Fairly Solid' all those years back, lit the band at least once as well. Just found out Caedmon are back together, love the new album - have to look out the old one, haven't played it for a while for fear of damage.
Good luck.

Saw the "Jim clutches vinyl" photo on MySpace, with Jim looking deid-pan as he holds what does indeed appear to be a 12" record [cover anyway] of "A Chicken To Hug" as if to say "I've got it on vinyl, you've only got it on CD, ner ner ne ner nyah!"). So, is the vinyl going on sale to us fans (I am one of the lucky ones living within an hour's bus ride of John Knox's House!) at some point in the near future, or is this a one-off band-only test pressing destined to be even rarer than the 1978 legend? Yes, I bought the CD... and if yous ever announce another reunion gig(s) I'll be champing at the bit (again)!

Hi Ken, I enjoyed the new cd. While getting famous hope you will spare some time for your old friends of<a href="http://www.ig-blech.de" rel="nofollow"> IG Blech (Berlin, Germany)
- not only chickens need hugs.

I'm singing the Caedmon 'Saturday Neet' song at The Sage Gateshead today, New Years Eve, with storytelling buddies Malcolm Green and Chris Bostock.

Thanks for getting in contact Andy.

The Rothbury rock buns remain only as a fond memory now. I finger the Egon Ronay 'Just a Bite' guide every ten years or so to remind myself of those exciting food-led times.

Chicken is now The Main on our menu, release date is very soon.

('A Chicken to Hug' is the new album, out before Christmas).

Remarkable! I have a copy of the album which I haven't played in YEARS but, listening to the Caedmon Player version today, I instantly remembered all the tunes. Although I always liked Caedmon, I don't think I fully realised (at the time of original purchase) how groundbreaking you were. Which brings me to the question I ask myself - How DID I originally discover Caedmon and where did I see you 'live' (a couple of times I think) and where did I get a copy of the album? Pretty sure I must have seen you at The Netherbow at some point. Although I could have seen you at Greenbelt too. I was living in Carluke at the time and our youth fellowship in St Johns Church there had connections with Gordon Strachan who I met on several occasions - at least once when he let my band at the time Pilgrim (later Scallywag) play at The Netherbow and I remember he was complimentary of our ability to 'know our audience'. Also noted fondly Ken's Country Kitchen in Rothbury which my wife and I unwittingly visited on a weekend trip there last year (tho I presume his involvement is long since finished). I wish I had heard about the reunion concerts before now. Ah well - my loss - but at least your music is timeless. - Andy Lindsay
